Invoicing

What is a ‘quote’ and can I send one to a customer through Tide Invoicing?

In the context of invoicing, a quote is an estimate of the cost for goods and or services, provided by a business before a payment is made. It should include the total price and quantities, but may also feature terms and other information. The buyer can choose to accept, reject or negotiate the quote.

Tide invoicing lets you create and send quotes to your customers before you issue an invoice.

To issue a quote through the app or Tide on the web, head to:

'Admin' > 'Invoices & Bills' > ‘Invoices’ > ‘Quotes’ > 'Create Quote'.

You’ll be able to choose from your existing customers and Product & Services list, just like creating an invoice.

Once you’ve created a quote, you can’t edit or cancel it – you can only create a new one.

If your quote is accepted, you can then convert it to an invoice in the app or on Tide on the web by following these steps:

'Admin' > 'Invoices & Bills' > ‘Invoices’ > ‘Quotes’ > select the quote from the list > ‘Convert to invoice’.
