As part of our Women in Business programme, we partnered with AllBright for their Pitch Day, an event designed specifically to empower female founders starting their journey with Tide. The event connected these founders with investors and industry leaders – and the chance to win a £5,000 investment!

Today, we introduce you to the runner-up of the Pitch Day – Eniye, founder of BEAME. BEAME is an SPF brand targeted towards GEN Z, which looks at skincare through the lens of emotional-wellbeing.

Hi Eniye – firstly, congratulations on being runner-up for the AllBright X Tide Pitch Day! Can you tell us more about BEAME?

BEAME is the world’s first emotional well-being SPF brand designed for Gen Z. We create innovative sun care that blends SPF, science-backed ingredients, scent, and tech, to make sunscreen reapplication second nature – especially for stressed-out skin. Our hero product is Something You Mist™, a facial mist that both protects and calms your skin.

What was the inspiration behind creating BEAME?

Like most great ideas, it came from personal frustration. I was stressed, breaking out, and felt like sunscreen just made things worse – thick textures, white cast, and impossible to reapply. I discovered how stress literally weakens the skin barrier and makes you more vulnerable to sun damage, and I knew there had to be a better way – so I created it!

BEAME emphasises the importance of skin health and emotional well-being. How does this link to the products you create?

We look at skin through the lens of mood and stress. Our mist isn’t just SPF, it’s formulated with active ingredients that reduce cortisol and soothe irritated skin.

We also launched UV detection stickers to help people reapply SPF at the right time. Everything we do is designed to support the skin and the person in it.

What challenges have you faced since you first launched your business?

Funding has definitely been a challenge, especially as a solo Black female founder in a high-cost category like sun care. I also wear all the hats at once – formulator, marketer, ops lead, founder. But the reward of seeing real people engage with BEAME makes every single bit of the hustle worth it!

What tip would you give to female founders looking to start their own businesses, especially in the beauty industry?

Start messy. You don’t need the perfect logo or the fanciest packaging, just a clear problem to solve and the courage to start solving it. Get close to your community, ask questions, and iterate quickly. Beauty moves fast, but authenticity cuts through.

What was your key takeaway from the Pitch Day process?

Don’t shrink yourself to fit a box. Investors are looking for energy, clarity, and conviction – when you speak from a place of truth, it resonates. Also, pitch decks change, but the story is what sticks.

What is your top tip to female founders pitching their business to a panel of investors?

Know your numbers, but lead with your story. Investors invest in people, not just spreadsheets. Show them why this idea had to come from you, and why now is the right time.

What’s next for BEAME?

We’re gearing up to fulfill our Kickstarter pre-orders. We’ve already had backing from L’Oréal and Steven Bartlett, and we’re currently raising to scale manufacturing and roll out new formats.

The vision? Make sunscreen something you actually want to use every day.
